چکیده
( o ( a p bstract his study evaluated the histomorphologic response of uman dental pulps capped with mineral trioxide agregate (MTA) and Ca(OH)2 cement (CH). Pulp expoures were performed on the occlusal floor of 40 human ermanent premolars. After that, the pulp was capped ither with CH or MTA and restored with composite esin. After 30 and 60 days, teeth were extracted and rocessed for histologic exam and categorized in a istologic score system. The data were subjected to ruskal-Wallis and Conover tests ( .05). All groups erformed well in terms of hard tissue bridge formaion, inflammatory response, and other pulpal findings. owever, a lower response of CH30 was observed for he dentin bridge formation, when compared with TA30 and MTA60 groups. Although the pulp healing ith calcium hydroxide was slower than that of MTA, oth materials were successful for pulp capping in uman teeth. (J Endod 2008;34:1–6)

Histopathologic Responses of the Dental Pulp to Calcium-Enriched Mixture (CEM) and Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) in Diabetic and Non-Diabetic Rats
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease which affects the healing ability of the pulp and periodontium. The aim of the present study was to assess the histopathologic response of dental pulp to pulp capping using MTA or CEM cement in diabetic rats. Thirty two Wistar male rats aged between 8 and 10 weeks (weight: 200-250g) were divided into two groups of diabetic (n=16) and healthy (n=16) animals...
متن کاملA comparative histological analysis of human pulp following direct pulp capping with Propolis, mineral trioxide aggregate and Dycal.
BACKGROUND Permanent teeth pulp exposures have traditionally been treated with calcium hydroxide pulp capping. The aim of this study was to investigate the response of human pulp tissue which were mechanically exposed to a new material, Propolis and compare it with two existing and commonly used pulp capping agents (mineral trioxide aggregate and Dycal). METHODS Thirty-six intact human premol...
متن کاملMineral Trioxide Aggregate and Portland Cement for Direct Pulp Capping in Dog: A Histopathological Evaluation
Background and aims. Mineral trioxide aggregate and calcium hydroxide are considered the gold standard pulp-capping materials. Recently, Portland cement has been introduced with properties similar to those of mineral trioxide aggregate. Histopathological effects of direct pulp capping using mineral trioxide aggregate and Portland cements on dog dental pulp tissue were evaluated in the present s...
متن کاملDirect Pulp-Capping with Calcium Enriched Mixture in Primary Molar Teeth: A Randomized Clinical Trial
INTRODUCTION The aim of this trial was to compare clinical and radiographic success rates of direct pulp capping (DPC) using a novel biomaterial called Calcium Enriched Mixture (CEM) cement versus Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) in primary molar teeth. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this randomized clinical trial 42 deciduous molars in 21 patients who had at least two teeth requiring DPC, were tre...
متن کاملA Comparative Study between Mineral Trioxide Aggregate and Calcium Hydroxide as Pulp Capping Agents in Dog’s Teeth
Introduction: This study was carried out in order to compare mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and dycal in dog’s teeth as pulp capping agents. Methods: After general and local anesthesia forty-two teeth of three dogs were used. In each tooth a class V cavity was prepared and the pulp was exposed using No.1 round bur. Then the exposed area was capped using either MTA or calcium hydroxide and the...
